What I'm Doing Tonight:

A Little Visit

Sunday night, Hudson stopped by. He knocked on the door and said, "Hey. What's up? Can we watch the end of the football game together?" Of course! Come on in!

So the boys sat down and watched some football. Then they played a game during the commercials.

There was a little peek-a-boo.

There was a lot of silliness.

And general hilarity.

Good times were had by all! See you next time, Hudson!

Eat, Sleep, Eat, Sleep...

Kate and her sister, Meg, were here this weekend for Austin City Limits. They spent most of their time at the festival, but they had some time to hang out on Saturday night and Sunday morning. Saturday we went to El Arbol for dinner and shut it down. We were totally the last ones there and we still ordered dessert. I know the waitress was thinking, "Please say no! Please say no!" as she asked us if we saved room for dessert. Oh, yes. We did.

It was pretty dark there, so there are no pictures.

Then we came home, went to sleep, woke up and went to go eat some more. Cuz that's how we roll. Or that's how we get rolls...

We had brunch at Chez Zee and it was delicious. But first we had to wait for about an hour because word has apparently gotten around about the delicious brunch. So at first we played Connect 4. Well, they played Connect 4 and I took pictures.

At first, they made faces like, "Connect 4 is hard!"

Then I showed them those pictures, and they changed to, "I LOVE Connect 4!"

But we were fading. We were hungry. And then we were greeted by the restaurant's magician.

Oh heck yes, I did say the magician.

He walked up and said, "You guys look bored." And we were like, "Who is this guy?" And, since he's a magician, he read our minds and said, "I'm Brad, the magician." Oh sure. Of course there's a magician.

He was really entertaining! He even told us some of his tricks and told us to see if we could see them. We totally couldn't. Guessed wrong every time. But it was fun.

He started out well with asking Kate if anyone had ever told her she was psychic.

What?! Yes! I totally am!

And then she guessed which card was in the stack. Well - guessed is not the right word. She KNEW.

Then we went inside and ate. Inside there was a piano player playing the randomest songs. It was like a game. We guessed what songs he was playing and then we sang.

I'm so glad I'm the one with the camera!

Then we went back to the house and, you guessed it, took a nap. Yay!

Any Day Now...

Both Kristin and Heather are due in October. We'll get to meet Carson and Jacob! Well, it'll be a little while before we actually get to go visit Jacob, but we'll be there as soon as we can!

Last week, I got to take Kristin out to take some maternity shots. She looked so cute and we found such a cute spot for our backdrop. It's a garden center here in Austin. I am still recovering from the mosquito attack, though! They're loving the weather apparently. Anyway - Here are some of my favorite shots:

I was nervous about wearing her out at first, but she reminded me that she is normally running after a two year old so this was really a break for her!

So that was the beginning of my weekend and that was on Thursday night! It went by in a blur - hopefully this week will, too!

Already Saturday Again?!

I feel like I am still recovering from last weekend even as I'm sitting right in the middle of Saturday morning. Last Friday was chill enough, but after that I didn't hardly even sit down - except while I was driving to Waco. It's not really the same!

I've for some reason gotten in the habit of waaaay overbooking myself. I go through phases like this every once in a while. I ended up with three different things planned for Saturday afternoon/evening last weekend. We started with watching the first part of the Red River Shootout at Meagan and Travis's house. We were in charge of bringing dessert. I planned fruit pizza, 'cause I've made it before and everybody loved it. It's supposed to be easy. However, the cookie crust part got the better of me this time. This is what happened:

So I freaked out and then Michael drove me to HEB to buy some pre-baked individual sugar cookies and we ended up with these:

The frosting stuff is just a block of cream cheese and a jar of marshmallow fluff. Then top it with whatever fruit you want! I do suggest do the single cookie "personal pan" fruit pizzas though. Much easier.

Then about halfway through the game, we headed out to celebrate Camry's 15th bday with her at the Hyatt Lost Pines. She got all dressed up for dinner and looked so grown up! But I left my camera in the car so I don't have a picture. You'll have to take my word for it.

So that was Saturday. Then Sunday I headed up to Waco to take some pictures of Logan's ensemble. They play music by new composers and are playing pretty soon at a festival in Dallas, so they needed a picture for the program...or whatever they call it. Anyway - introducing...PRECIPICE!

Logan is the percussionist:

There's also a flutist:

A clarinetist:

A pianist:

A violinist:

And a cellist (Logan's roommate, Cody):

Then I drove back home and got ready for work the next day! Weekends just fly by sometimes!
