Baby On the Way!

Not me - I don't have a baby on the way. Sorry if I got your hopes up Meagan - I promise when I announce that one day, I will not do it via blog. Okay - now to the real baby on the way.

Jessica is going to have her baby any day now!

And she would like for everyone to know that she is wearing a shirt in that picture.

Jessica and Todd decided not to find out what sex their baby is, so for now we're calling it Baby Alguire.

Personally, I think it's a girl. I think this because, at first I was certain it was a boy. But then I thought, I've never guessed right before - so it must be a girl!

If it's a girl, her name will be Grace.

And if it's a boy, he'll be called Benjamin. Or Ben. But never Benny. Okay? Everyone agreed?

Todd thinks he won't know what to do with a girl if that's what they end up having. But I don't think he'll have any trouble figuring it out. I'm pretty sure he would end up doing just WHATEVER his girl asks him to!

(That's pretty much how things go now, anyway!)

And who can blame him when his wife looks this good 8 months pregnant?!

We can't wait to meet you, Baby Alguire!

Good Times

Last weekend while my parents were here, we finallllly took Daddy to Magnolia Cafe.

(He's been talking about it for at least a year.) The pancakes and the pork dumplings and the enchiladas were very good. (They have quite a varied menu.)

Daddy deemed it "good times."
That's what the hand sign means. It's like this:

"Good"

"Times" Like a multiplication sign.

So combine them and you get:
GOOD TIMES!

(Daddy would really like for this hand sign to catch on, so spread the word!)

But First...

It just doesn't get much more Austin than this wedding! Steve and Elisha exchanged vows in May at, no you're not misreading this, the Ghost Room - a bar downtown.

So I was really not sure how this was going to go. Bars are dark, right? Bars are kind of dirty usually?

Nope. This bar was none of that and the patio out back shaded by an old oak made the sweetest little spot for a sweet little wedding with a lot of Austin flavor. A home-made cookie bar instead of a cake; barbecue instead of "chicken or beef"; three local bands instead of a string quartet!

Seems like "traditional" in Austin means to do everything different.

And I love it!

Congrats & God Bless, Steve & Elisha!

R&R

So the idea of our Sunday School retreat this weekend was to relax and fellowship - so I did just that. I have very few pictures from the weekend because every time I thought about taking some pictures, my camera was downstairs and I was comfy on the couch or something. So these are the few shots that I brought home.

Just like most of Texas, there was a burn ban on in the area we were at. But we wanted to make some s'mores. We tried it over the grill, but - s'mores grilling tip - we should've taken the grill grate off so we could stick the mallows down closer to the flames. Some people gave up and used the microwave. Un-American is what that is.

We did a lot of swimming. This picture might lead you to believe that Hudson likes swimming. It's lies. Don't believe him. He only liked that floaty when it was not in the water.

He does, however, like his momma's singin' and dancin'.

And Susan. He likes Susan, too.

I like these shots I took of Michael practicing the songs he sang for our "church service" on Sunday morning. (I was in PJs. I wish I could always wear PJs to church!)

And finally, the one and only shot of me from this weekend was taken by Dani:
I think she really is showing an aptitude for photography. And bein' mean. She waited for me to come out of the bathroom and then screamed and took my picture. Mean.

Other than Dani bein' mean, it was a great weekend! Thanks so much to Meagan and Travis for arranging it for us, and to Travis' grandparents for opening up their lakehouse to us!
