Jifferdoodle's Going Gruene

I think I meant to put a "to" in there. Jifferdoodle's going TO Gruene. Gruene, Texas, that is. And actually I already went there.

I met up with this couple in Gruene a few weeks ago to take some engagement portraits. They're getting married in April, so we had to get a move on! They're actually from San Antonio, so Gruene was not only a convenient spot for us to meet, turns out it also makes for some gorgeous engagement photos!

We started in Gruene Hall and really could have gotten plenty of shots in there. I love the lighting.

I loved this shoot, and I can't wait for the wedding! Congratulations Nina & Kyle!

I Love Y'All So Much!

We took these pictures the week of Thanksgiving. I thought I had them edited the week afterward, but there turned out to be some...ahem...extra grafitti...that was visible in the prints, but not on my screen. Had to do a little re-edit so that all we got was the sweet part of the grafitti.

Those are my parents. They've been together for a loooong time! They looooove each other!

I like them pretty good, too.

Also, you can't even tell that that spot was a wind tunnel while we were trying to take these pictures. Getting Daddy's hair to quit blowing around was a challenge, but I guess we figured it out...

Some Pictures You've Never Seen

A little while back, I took some wedding photos for a guy I know from work. I never did end up putting the photos up for one reason or another, but I really love them and I want to share them!

It was full Catholic mass, so there was plenty of time for me to some shots during the ceremony!

And of course there was a party afterward! The ceremony was at their church in Hutto, but the ceremony was down on Town Lake. (Okay fine - Lady Bird Lake. Town Lake is a better name.)

The food was all made by family (and was delicious!). In fact, the whole wedding was a family effort!

The groom is from Guam, so his groom's cake was decorated like the Guam flag.

As you can see, it was a very happy day and I am so glad I got to be part of it!

Congratulations Diane & Mark!

This Is Probably Not Going to Be Awesome

I don't have an awesome idea for my first blog back, but I've just got to break the ice and write SOMETHING!!

So to that end, I've got some randomness for you. Happy New Year!

A few weeks ago I drove through Burnet on some back roads and I found this church:

I stopped to take some pictures even though it had already rained and turned everything muddy and was about to start raining again. Worth it.

It had this cool looking pavillion with a bunch of old pews bunched up in the middle.

I guess I also thought the rafters looked cool enough for a picture. I stand by that decision.

This wreath was right down the road from the church on a gate. It was maybe prettier when I wasn't so close, but I still took the picture. And if you look at the right side of the wreath you'll see the little bird that landed on it right as I snapped the photo!

Just kidding. That's a stuffed bird that, frankly, has seen better days. Oh well.

Couple more random things:

Firstly, Jessica's cake. Yummmm. It tasted gooood and look how pretty! She made that. Pecans and all.

And lastly, and this part is pretty awesome I guess:

Leila. Snuggling with a teddy bear that is bigger than she will be for years! We're so glad you're here Leila!

Okay - whew!! I blogged. I'll be back with more. You may have to suffer through more randomness before I can come up with a coherent thought, but I'll work on it.
